It is bad for self-confidence, creates social insecurity and can lead to an increase in self-criticism. This is of course not something you want to stimulate. That’s why we are going to give tips on how to limit bad hair days!

Your hair is always prone to hair damage: from dryness, cold, straightening your hair with a flat iron and blow drying your hair. It's no surprise, then, that having healthy hair is a real endeavor. It takes time to make your hair strong. With small adjustments in your routine, you can ensure that your hair is always looking healthy and not damaged. We give you 10 tips!

1. Brush your hair before you take a shower

Before you take a shower, take a moment to detangle your hair. Your hair is very fragile when it is wet: your hair can break off much faster. Always brush your hair when it is dry. An additional advantage is that your hair is already detangled when you get out of the shower, so you can style it immediately!

2. Always use a conditioner after using shampoo

A conditioner takes care of your hair. Using a conditioner can significantly improve your hair: it increases shine, reduces static electricity, improves hair strength and protects against harmful UV rays. When using a "2 in 1" shampoo, you don't need to use a conditioner.

3. Use conditioner properly

First apply the conditioner in the lengths. Pay close attention to the ends of your hair. Then work your way up to the scalp. It's important to moisturize your scalp as well. But beware: it can also cause your hair to become a bit greasy. Leave the conditioner on for at least 1 minute before washing it out.

4. Take time for a hair mask

To keep your hair moisturized and smooth, you can use a hair mask. Use a moisturizing hair mask or deep conditioner at least once a week to keep your hair healthy. This leaves the hair shiny and makes the hair feel soft without weighing down the hair.

5. Breath in breath out

Inhale through your nose and out through your mouth. What does this have to do with your hair? Everything! Little things make a big difference. Your hair is part of your body. When you are stressed, your scalp will also be stressed. This negatively affects hair growth. Breath in breath out.

6. Cold shower

When washing and rinsing your hair, we prefer cold water to hot water. Cold doesn't have to mean using ice cold water. We recommend water at room temperature. Hot water

7. Eat healthy

What you eat affects hair health. The healthier you are, the better your hair will look. So the healthier you eat, the more beautiful your hair will be. It is important that you eat a lot of fruits, vegetables and protein foods. This way you take care of your hair naturally, without all kinds of remedies.

8. Avoid tight rubber bands

Tight rubber bands tend to pull your hair back very tightly, which increases the friction of the hair and can cause breakage. It is better to use scruncies. This can prevent your hair

9. Cool your hair

If your hair feels warm after blow drying or straightening it, it means it is still being heated. It might be a bit of a strange comparison, but when you take a steak off the grill, it continues to "cook". The same goes for styling your hair with, for example, a hairdryer. Use the cold function of your hairdryer to cool your hair and scalp.

10. Go to the hairdresser

Visit the hairdresser regularly to keep your hair healthy. This ensures that your hair breaks off less quickly. If you want to stick to the length of your hair, ask the stylist to cut only the ends so that the damaged ends are removed. We recommend to go to the hairdresser once every two months.
